Al's Bio
A lifelong New England resident, Al was born in Rhode Island and spent most of his married and business life in Massachusetts. In 2002, Al and his wife Helen relocated to Florida where they reside today with their beloved Maltese, Rocky.

A Vietnam era veteran, following an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Al attended The New England Conservatory of Music, in Boston, and graduated from Johnson and Wales University, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Following several years in financial planning, he went on to grow a successful furniture business that he operated with his wife until 1985, when a career shift brought them into the world of marketing.

For the next sixteen years, Al and his wife Helen grew their business and traveled the world from Seoul, Korea, to Europe speaking at various venues about the benefits of American styled free enterprise.

I'll never forget giving a speech to an audience of almost 30,000 people in Charlotte, North Carolina where I had the privilege and challenge of following former president Ronald Reagan to the podium. I figured half the audience would leave for potty break, but to my surprise, they didn't.

One particularly memorable experience was when they spoke at the first ever free enterprise rally in Warsaw, Poland, shortly after Poland won the battle for freedom from Soviet control.

photo gallery Al and Helen shared the stage with many notables over the years, including presidents Reagan and Bush, Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, General Schwarzkopf, leader of the allied troops in the first Iraq war, Author Robert Kiyosaki, famed speaker Zig Ziglar, countless entertainers like Brenda Lee, Marie Osmond, Johnny Cash, Art Linkletter, the Oak Ridge Boys, Bill Medley, to name a few, and sports notables Mike Ditka, Sugar Ray Leonard, Lou Holtz, Rick Pitino, and many more.

A believer in public service, Al was an active member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary International where, as a prestigious Paul Harris Fellow, he served in many capacities from club president to several years as Chairman of Foreign Youth Exchange, where he assisted in coordinating high school student exchanges with clubs in Europe and South America.

Leaving their marketing business behind in 2001, Al decided to pursue a long delayed dream of succeeding as a published writer.

Not the type to be idle and realistic about the challenges associated with success in the publishing world, Al continues to be gainfully employed in sales related fields.

Al and Helen have two children and eight grand children. His writing credits include his first works of fiction, Life Interrupted, and Danny Boy. Al has several manuscripts in development.
